I want my laptop to sleep if I close it's lip. Having Selected this option under System Settings > Power Management > Button Events Handling > When Laptop Lid is closed > Sleep It would appear it's completely random as to whether it will do it or not. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't and if it doesn't if I manually change the 'When Laptop Lid is closed' to something else and then apply that change, then change it back to 'Sleep' and then apply that change, it seems to do it everytime during that session there afterwards. Maybe my OS Kubuntu 12.04 LTS isn't reading a config file during KDE startup or something and readying itself for that action. Reproducible: Sometimes
Is this still a problem with 4.9.3 or newer? If so, what is the value of System Settings > Power Management -> Advanced Settings -> Never prevent an action on lid close
Closing bug for lack of feedback. Please reopen the bug in case you are still able to reproduce the bug in KDE 4.10 Thanks !
I'm on a different laptop now, which is unaffected by this bug. However I am unable to adjust screen brightness on this laptop either by software or hardware keyboard shortcuts. Martin.
