Description Robin Green 2012-04-29 16:39:45 UTC
I expected the page to be reloaded after I logged in to Trac at http://proofgeneral.inf.ed.ac.uk/trac/ , as it is with Firefox, but it wasn't.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to http://proofgeneral.inf.ed.ac.uk/trac/
2. Log in (e.g. username coquser, password coq)
Actual Results:
Nothing happens, login link stays at top of page

Expected Results:
Login link should change to show that user has been logged in

What version of KDE ? Which browser engine did you test ? Did you try to use a different user-agent string to see if it works ?
Comment 2 Robin Green 2012-05-05 21:33:38 UTC
KDE 4.8.2. WebKit. I just tried with a Firefox user-agent string; same result.

What about the browser engine ? khtml or kwebkitpart ? You can find out by looking at the value of "Default Web Browser engine" under Settings->Configure Konqueror->General

I just said - webkit.

Sorry, I did not see that in the original response. Anyhow, I just attempted to test this but I cannot login. Obviously, the login provided does not work at this point.

The password is now coquser (i.e. same as the username). Maybe I made a mistake in my original post, or maybe they changed the password. (Don't worry, it's a guest account that's documented on that page itself.)

I tried with both the khtml and webkit browser engines and I could not reproduce the problem. I see the "logged in as coquser" and "Logout" entries at the top of the page. I am testing using the latest version of KDE 4.9, but I do not remember any change that would affect this between 4.8 and 4.9 releases.

Dear Bug Submitter,

This bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version? I am setting the status to NEEDSINFO pending your response, please change the Status back to REPORTED when you respond.

Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone!
