Description B. R. Ashley 2012-04-29 16:27:36 UTC
I run choqok on Xubuntu. I just took the system upgrade to Xubuntu 12.04 and started choqok, but the icon is not showing up in the status bar at the top of the xfce desktop as id did in Xubuntu 11.10.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Xubuntu session
2. Start Choqok
3. Close Choqok window. In 11.10, the Choqok icon appeared in the panel area on the status bar, top right, next to Skype and other running applications.
Actual Results:
Choqok is running and updating, I can access it from my menu of Internet programmes, but the icon never appears.

Expected Results:
Icon should have come up.

Is this reproducible with Choqok 1.3?

Hi,

since choqok doesn't work with twitter below version 1.4 I would suggest to compile it from source on your distribution (since version 1.4 won't be shipped as update there). To do that you can run "sudo apt-get build-deb choqok" to install all needed dependencies and then

git clone git://anongit.kde.org/choqok
mkdir choqok-build && cd choqok-build

cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=`kde4-config --prefix` ../choqok && make && sudo make install

After that, icons should work as expected.

Tell me, if that works, then we can close this bug since version 1.2 isn't supported anymore.
