After upgrading from Kubuntu 11.10 with KDE 4.8.2 to Kubuntu 12.04 with KDE 4.8.2. each time system starts a lamp icon appears in a tray. After clicking on it with left mouse button, strange black window appears looking as a black horizontal line through the all screen. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start the OS. 2. Do you have compositing ("Desktop Effects") enabled? Does disabling them (Alt+Shift+F12) make any difference? Which video drivers are you using?
Yes, I have compositing enabled. And after I disabled it, I saw the window with very long text. I'm using R600g driver. You can see screenshots of parts of that long window here: http://uaimage.com/gallery/d23bcc37 or in attachments.

The reason is that the window is larger than what the OpenGL drivers supports.

The window is black because it's faaaar bigger than your max_texture sizes. The core problem here is that a window with exceptionally HUUUUGE minimum width is created. -> open konsole, run "xprop > broken_window.props" and click the junk window to figure where it derives from (don't know what a lamp icon is) and file a bug against that component (it looks like some package manager invoking all translation strings in one long unbreakable line)
I ran "xprop > broken_window.props" and clicked the junk window but nothing showed.
