Description K. A. Sayeed 2012-04-23 20:26:10 UTC
Application: kontact (4.7.3)
KDE Platform Version: 4.7.4 (4.7.4)
Qt Version: 4.7.4
Operating System: Linux 3.0.0-17-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 11.10

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

1. Recording a KDE Kontact journal entry received by e-mail into the Kontact Journal application by clicking the appropriate button at the bottom of the e-mail message.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:

1. Could not use a template that I had just created in the using "Manage Templates" function in the KDE Kontact application. I go the following message:

1.1. "Error loading template file '/home/sayeednm/.kde/share/apps/korganizer/templates/Journal/Form -> Call -> Voice Recorded -> 2012 04 23 14 24 58'."

2. Important Functions that are missing in recent versions of KDE Kontact:

2.1. Sending contact information from the Contact application of KDE Kontact by e-mail.

2.1.1. This was a very useful function that existed in Kontact 4.3.2. It is missing in subsequent versions of KDE Kontact. It needs to be reinstated.

2.2. The "Apply" button in the Contact application of KDE Kontact:

2.2.1. This was a very useful function that existed in Kontact 4.3.2. It is missing in subsequent versions of KDE Kontact. It enabled the saving of contact information entered into the Contact application of KDE Kontact without having to close the contact form in order to save the information already entered and then opening it again in order to enter more information. This method is extremely inefficient. The said "Apply" button needs to be reinstated.

2.3. Alphabetic sorting of the custom fields when entering information into Contact application of KDE Kontact:

2.3.1. This capability needs to be introduced in order to alphabetically locate custom fields when entering information. This makes location easier and faster particularly when there are many custom fields.

Closing this issue: please open *one* report for each issue.

Note that before doing that, you should upgrade both your kdepim and KDE versions: 4.7.4 is too old.
