When I try and create a new task, it pops up the correct dialogue window, but when I click "Ok", it's replaced with an error window which says:

"Error storing new task. Your changes were not saved. Make sure you can edit your iCalendar file. Also quit all applications using this file and remove any lock file related to its name from ~/.kde/share/apps/kabc/lock/ "

There is nothing in the /lock folder mentioned, and I only have the default local calendar that is in Kontact by default (no iCalendar).

Konsole output (opening Kontact, and trying to create a new item through to the error message) says:

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Kontact, click on "Time Tracker" component.
2.Click "New ToDo" icon in top right corner. 
3.Click "Ok"
Actual Results:  
1. Error dialogue window:
"Error storing new task. Your changes were not saved. Make sure you can edit your iCalendar file. Also quit all applications using this file and remove any lock file related to its name from ~/.kde/share/apps/kabc/lock/ "

2. No time tracker task is created

Expected Results:  
A time tracker task is created and no error message.

Using Ktimetracker as a standalone application works fine.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kontact (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

ktimetracker is dead in kf5
=> you can close all ktimetracker bugs.

Closing as unmaintained, since ktimetracker has been dropped in recent versions. Sorry for the noise.
