openSUSE 12.1 (3.1.9-1.4-desktop) KDE 4.8.2 Kontact 4.8.2 Kmail 4.8.2 Contacts 4.8.2 Installed 4.8.2 this last weekend. Yesterday I went to send to a contact group in Kontact-Kmail2 and noticed all the contacts within the groups were missing. Looking at .local/share/contacts the .ctg files are still there and contain pointers. Below are just a few from one group: Code -------------- <contactReference uid="10084"/> <contactReference uid="10218"/> <contactReference uid="10062"/> <contactReference uid="10061"/> /Code ------------- I readded names to smallest group and they contacts for that group now appear under the group in both Contact and Kmail2. The groups which I have not restored yet, have the correct number of pointers. Looks like the update destroyed the link between the contactreference UID and what its pointing to. Where is it pointing to. I am using the internal mysql database ( at least I think it is and not the sqlite one) as I have not been able to get my external one working with contacts. Has anyone else experienced this? Reported on Novell Bugzilla-Bug #756469 They asked me to report this upstream. Thanks
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kontact (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
