I have set custom icons for my favorite folders (all are inboxes of my accounts), but the icons appear only till new mail check. After the check, the icons are restored to the default. The icons I have set are PNG images stored in my home folder.
how do you set it ?
Add favorite folder -> then right click on it and select Folder properties -> View tab (I think it is, I'm not home right now, so I can't check it up) -> Set custom icon -> select other location and browse the disk and select my-icon.png It works. The icon of my favorite folder changes to the image i chose, but after couple of minutes (the interval of automated mail check), or when I tell kmail to check for new mail, the icon just goes back to the default image. Maybe I should try install newer version of kmail, after all - version 4.8.0 looks like a bit old. Moreover, gentoo says I have version 4.8.1, but kmail says its version is 4.8.0, so I presumed gentoo got it wrong.
Ok I can confirm it for imap ccounts/inbox. We can change icons but icons is revert to default when we sync.
We made an error in kmail. We must not autorize to change icon. We put inbox icons for inbox folder (as in kmail1). It's easier to find inbox folder. So I will disable this feature when it's inbox.
