Created attachment 70273 [details] screenshot This was reported and fixed in bug 193756, but it's broken again in kde 4.8 Specifically, I have some application icons which are very big, and a folder view widget which is smaller. They used to be about the same size in kde 4.7
Don't know if this is a systray specific problem or a panel one, but I have some similar problem with my tiny panel (see attachment) : strigi, klipper, Mageia NetApplet are not properly resized and look as if they were spilling out of the panel. Also, there is some problem with the clock text which is vertically centered, don't know if this comes from the same problem or if I should file a separate bug.

I cannot say anything about the systemtray and clock issue because I use a big panel without clock but for the other issuse I must say I cannot confirm it. The icon for showing the desktop resizes fine here to the panels size. My panel icon size is set to 128. There are sometimes small icons for launchers in the panel I have not put there. I don't know under which circumstances they appear and stay but they are smaller than the other launchers I added of my own volition.
Is this still valid for KDE 4.9.0 or 4.9.1?

Wrong, those (before the folder view) are not launcher icons, they are application "shortcuts", added to panel from the K menu. And the problem is not really about them, but about the folder view icon. However, I found that I can fix it by changing the size in system settings - application appearance - icons - advanced - panel.
