KMail doesnot leave my attachments on a server. I expected this to be a default functionality for IMAP. The issues raised in this link (http://linuxcritic.wordpress.com/2009/09/11/moving-from-kontact-to-thunderbird/) from 2009 are also still true. I thank you for the efforts invested in making free software usable. I still think that Kontact is great product with many users waiting to enjoy it!
Please give more details: - Which kmail/kontact version ? - is it reproducible ? - how big are the attachements ? - how are the IMAP accounts configured ? (dimap, imap..)
- Kmail/Kontact version 4.7.3 - KDE version 4.7.4 - Behavior reproducible all the time - Any size of attachment that I receive through IMAP - Configuration: IMAP E-Mail Server --- Same behavior with or without offline mode enabled - Server configured: imap.googlemail.com On Tue Apr 3 2012 15:33:55 Christophe Giboudeaux wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=297288 > > Christophe Giboudeaux <cgiboudeaux@gmx.com> changed: > > What |Removed |Added > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Component|mail |general > Version|4.7 pre |unspecified > Product|kontact |kmail2 > > --- Comment #1 from Christophe Giboudeaux <cgiboudeaux@gmx.com> --- > Please give more details: > > - Which kmail/kontact version ? > - is it reproducible ? > - how big are the attachements ? > - how are the IMAP accounts configured ? This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
