I can not cause Kmail2 to check for new mails on startup:
The related checkbox (as in older versions) is missing in the folders section
The option "kmail --check" basically works. But I found no way to bring this otion to work due to the fact, that I use the kontact plugin.
(I've tried to use the module option - it does not work neither)

Reproducible: Always

there is option in menu in configure->account.
You can select "check new mails at startup"

Sorry it is there - the popup menue shows up, when you right klick the folder icon in the account area. May be a menuetext is missing in the german translation. (see attachment to comment 2):
"Retrieval Options" <> "Empfangsoptionen"

Please find enclose a screenshot for clarification.
Don't know - is it a feature or is the menue text missing in the german version?
The english version of the handbook tells about a "Retrieval Option". Is that a menue or only the reference to the very very small arrow icon in the push buttons near the left border of the frame
Please keep in mind: The problem itself is solved.
