Description Robin Green 2012-03-18 14:03:46 UTC
Bug 225497 was actually at least 2 bugs combined, and this is the bug from there that was never adressed as far as I can see: POP3 resources do not display error messages to the user.

For example, I got an error from my POP mail host saying "mailbox in use" (it was actually due to my mailbox being full). But all I saw in kmail was no mails being downloaded. I had to change it from a secure to an insecure connection and use wireshark to see what the error message was.

Where do you see error ?
How reproduce bugs ?
Comment 2 Robin Green 2012-03-19 20:45:31 UTC
Like I said, I used the application called wireshark to see the error message being received over TCP/IP.

Don't really want to fill up my mailbox again, but hopefully this bug will be easy to find in the code.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
