(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kate Version: 1.0 (using KDE 2.2.0 beta1) Severity: wishlist Installed from: Debian Package 4:2.2.0-0beta1-5 (testing/unstable) Compiler: Not Specified OS: Linux OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified With the file view in the side pane on the left it would be a lot better if the view with 'Seperate Directories' turned on would have the directories on top and files on the bottom rather than having the directories to the left of the files. There's too little horizontal space with the 'Seperate Directories' option being as it is. (Submitted via bugs.kde.org) (Called from KBugReport dialog. Fields Application OS Compiler manually changed)

Moving from "kio/kfile" component to "kfile" product, helps sorting out duplicates.
That's a quirk of the standard Short View, which behaves like this everywhere. Duping to the request to use a better default view, which will always have the folders above the files. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 86838 ***
