I just noticed the same behaviour after moving to KDE 4.8.1 from 4.8.0. Using openSUSE Release 4.8 packages. This behaviour seems to break every now and then with releases, though it had been a while since the last time. It's a very annoying bug, though, especially when replying to a lot of e-mails every day.

Are you using 4.8.1 against Qt 4.8.0? I understand from my other bugreport that that might be the culprit?
I am, yes. KDE 4.8.1 with Qt 4.8.0. I will see if there is a 4.8 repository for openSUSE 11.4.
Paul, I was asking Laurent, but thx for confirming you are using Qt 4.8.0 as well.
:) Should've first checked quickly and then post. There is a 4.8 repo, but it still shows 4.8.0 and the 4.8 KDE repository also has Qt 4.8.0. So, I can't test it against 4.8.1 at the moment.

Yes, that works good now, but there's a remaining problem. If you have the option set to append the signature BEFORE quoted text, the cursor is put between your signature and the quoted text, while it should simply be at the very top of the body. Should this be a new bug report then?
