Old holiday calendar by some Ubuntu rs member.

Hi, I would like to add holiday for Serbia in KDE calendar. I read directions from http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=90320#p170820 (bit old post I know).
Here is a link from one of Serbian government's websites with complete calendar: http://www.minrzs.gov.rs/cms/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=336
Unfortunately, there is no English version on the website. What also is missing are Ortodox holidays when people who celebrate it have day off: http://sr.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%BF%D0%B8%D1%81%D0%B0%D0%BA_%D0%BA%D1%80%D1%81%D0%BD%D0%B8%D1%85_%D1%81%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%B2%D0%B0

I m here to help out in translation and whatever it needs to get Serbian calendar into KDE.

Here is also one holiday calendar that one member of Ubuntu Serbia made back in 2010. Might be helpful so I am adding it in attach.

I am not sure if the format is same so I didn't edit it without consulting here. Serbia uses Cyrillic (official) and Latin.

Slightly commented holiday file

Attaching a slightly commented file. I have a few questions next
Comment 3 Christophe Marin 2012-06-10 18:31:09 UTC
- For the National Day, should it be "Dan državnosti Srbije" or "Dan državnosti" ?
- "Vaskrs" is not listed
- "Vaskrsni ponedeljak" is not listed
- "Dan primirja" is not listed
- "Drugi dan Uskrsa" is the Easter Monday ? or should it be "Uskrsni ponedeljak" ?
- "Krsna slava" is not listed (but it looks like it changes every year)

For the other religions:
- "Ramazanski Bajram" and "Kurbanski Bajram" are not listed (we could add 2012 and maybe also 2013 for the second one)
- "Jom Kipur" is not listed

- "Dan sećanja na žrtve holokausta" is not listed (even if it's not a day off)
- "Dan Evrope" is not listed
- "Dan sećanja na srpske žrtve" is not listed

Can you check which celebrations should be in the Holiday file please ?

Complete Serbian holiday file in latin and cyrillic
Comment 7 Milovan 2012-06-28 08:12:00 UTC
Here is in tar.gz latin and cyrillic complete and up to date holiday files for Serbia.
Let me know if you need more info or anything else.
When can we wxpect it to be included? KDE 4.9 or KDE 4.8.5 even?
Comment 8 Allen Winter 2012-06-29 14:36:08 UTC
I will install the Serbian in Cyrllic version for 4.8.5 and above.

but the latin file is just the serbian words transliterated into latin text.

rather, I'd like to have a version that is *translated* into English using latin text.
Can you provide a translated version please?

Hi, Serbian language has its own Cyrillic and Latin version. Our Latin is different than English one (it has 30 letters which some do not exist in English, or some that we do not have and English Latin has).
In case I misunderstood, you want me to provide Serbian calendar translated into English language or we just misunderstood about Latin difference between English and Serbian alphabet?

Thank you for a wonderful news, our KDE users will be happy to hear it!
Comment 12 Chusslove Illich 2012-07-14 21:12:25 UTC
This bug report has only just now been brought to my attention, and
unfortunatelly some miscommunication has occured.

I have understood that, for a calendar to be comitted, it should be sent to
John Layt first. We -- the Serbian KDE localization team, involving also the
people listed in this committed file -- have prepared a set of calendars,
which I have sent to John in mid-February. To my fault, it slipped my mind
_from that point on, and now I see that John never replied to me, nor that he
had comitted anything.

There are two problems with the committed calendar. The first problem is
that it is a single calendar, whereas four are needed for Serbia (one per
script-dialect combination, corresponding to KDE Serbian localization). The
second problem is that it mixes secular and official holidays with strictly
Christian Orthodox holidays. The batch of calendars I sent to John instead
contained only secular+official holidays, in all script-dialect
combinations; once that would have been committed, we would have sent in
also Christian Orthodox holiday definitions, but properly designated as such
(so that other religious communities in Serbia can in future contribute
their own definitions) and again in all script-dialect combinations.

John (or if someone else took over maintainance), how should we proceed now?

Official+secular calendar definitions for Serbia and Republic of Srpska.

This is the calendar set I mentioned in the previous comment I sent to John.
It also contains analogous definitions for Republic of Srpska (part of
Bosnia and Herzegovina), since in KDE Serbian localization team there are
also people from there.
Comment 14 Christophe Marin 2013-01-19 01:42:19 UTC
As this report didn't get much love lately, I'd say just commit to the KDE/4.10 branch in kdepimlibs and clean the existing Serbian holiday files if necessary

Git commit 2c88030c76b8982b71383e2c7e80255ca6dcbcc0 by Chusslove Illich (Часлав Илић).
Committed on 04/06/2013 at 15:59.
Pushed by ilic into branch 'master'.

Redacted holiday definitions for RS and BA-SRP.

These are the holiday definitions for Serbia (rs), and for
the Republic of Srpska entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina (ba-srp).
They contain only the holidays specifically mentioned in the respective
government lists of official holidays, plus a few technical dates
(e.g. daylight saving time switching).

Some major religious holidays are included in here already, for
several religious denominations, as they appear on the official lists.
More detailed religious holiday definitions, split by denomination,
may follow later as interested parties contribute them.

Both holiday files are reproduced in the four standard dialect-script
variants of Serbian language, as supported by KDE localization.
