Description Gog 2012-03-11 14:46:15 UTC
When I want to type something in Firefox using oxygen-gtk2 theme, I have incorrect drawing.
I use Xorg 1.11, Nvidia 295.20, KDE 4.8.1 , Firefox 10.02. I tried to work on Nouveau, but it's the same.

What firefox version is it? Is your WM in composited mode?

FF 10.02 , yes
Comment 6 Gog 2012-03-11 16:41:43 UTC
Hm... with Kwin composite disabled issue looks gone
Comment 7 Ruslan Kabatsayev 2012-03-11 16:51:25 UTC
Does it still reproduce if you set OXYGEN_DISABLE_ARGB_HACK env variable to 1 and then start firefox?
(i.e. like this: "OXYGEN_DISABLE_ARGB_HACK=1 firefox")
Comment 8 Gog 2012-03-11 16:54:27 UTC
>Does it still reproduce if you set OXYGEN_DISABLE_ARGB_HACK env variable to 1 and then start firefox?

Yeah, still there
Comment 9 Ruslan Kabatsayev 2012-03-11 17:53:07 UTC
Strangely, I can't reproduce. Does is reproduce with another WM, e.g. compiz?
Comment 10 Gog 2012-03-11 18:01:26 UTC
It's only KDE issue, in other WM's all fine.
When Compiz is runnig all fine.
Comment 11 Ruslan Kabatsayev 2012-03-11 18:02:22 UTC
Might be a KWin bug...
@Hugo
What do you think of this?
Comment 12 Gog 2012-03-11 18:06:01 UTC
I also found this http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=2535530
Comment 13 Ruslan Kabatsayev 2012-03-11 18:09:52 UTC
BTW, if you open some page, are its contents visible through these white areas, or are these areas just plain white?
Comment 14 Gog 2012-03-11 18:14:47 UTC
This does not happen every time.
I think it just plain white.
Comment 15 Ruslan Kabatsayev 2012-03-11 18:19:33 UTC
Then it's most likely not our bug. Looks like nvidia driver bug.
Comment 16 Gog 2012-03-11 18:24:48 UTC
>Then it's most likely not our bug

But with Nouveau the same. I've installed the newest version of xorg-xserver 1.12 but the same(
Comment 17 Hugo Pereira Da Costa 2012-03-12 07:27:29 UTC
if this happens with kwin and not with compiz, it must be related to kwin (or driver)
What's you're KDE version ?

Link "http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=2535530" is unrelated (or not oxygen): the posted screenshots are _not_ oxygen style.
Comment 18 Hugo Pereira Da Costa 2012-03-12 07:29:06 UTC
PS: can't reproduce either (with intel, and KDE from git).
Will test with nvidia this evening.
Comment 19 Hugo Pereira Da Costa 2012-03-12 07:29:27 UTC
... and firefox-10.0.2
Comment 20 Gog 2012-03-12 11:55:43 UTC
Hugo,

It reproduces with Kwin, nvidia blob and xorg 1.11. KDE 4.8.1

First I met this issue in KDE 4.8 version. 2 months I used kde 4.7.4 with xorg 1.10.4 in openSUSE 12.1 and all was fine.
Comment 21 Marius Muja 2012-05-08 23:56:45 UTC
I'm seeing the same bug in Qt applications, when using the Plastique GUI style (all is well with the Oxygen style). Using and Intel GM965 chipset and running KDE 4.8.3, Xorg 1.11.4.
Comment 22 Ruslan Kabatsayev 2012-05-11 16:45:51 UTC
This should mean that this is not our bug, and is instead either kwin or Xorg driver.
Comment 23 Thomas Lübking 2012-09-03 14:07:30 UTC
Only happens if there's no showing animation (fade, scale, generic animations, stuff like that) I assume?
