Thanks for moving this. I do not remember this bug 295622 showing up in the wizard search but my systems are the same as described except I was trying to move 1 folder into another.  Will follow this bug and ad anything new.

kmail (4.8.3) on KDE Platform 4.8.3 (4.8.3) "release 503" using Qt 4.8.1

- What I was doing when the application crashed: Moving a folder under 4.8.3 is working. 
But now I've done the following : select a folder "A" choose move to -> another folder -> "Z" move into this. Success
Then select folder "B" choose move to -> Recent location -> choose Folder "Z"
kmail2 crash, the move is successful.

As with other reports, I had recently moved a folder (by GUI dragging) from a lower level to a parent of the original location.  This is on a DIMAP resource. 

The crash didn't happen immediately but only when I created a new empty folder soon afterwards, I don't know whether that is coincidence or not.
