Description itsef-admin 2012-03-01 10:04:39 UTC
Version: 4.8.x (using KDE 4.8.0)
OS: Linux

In the old KOrganizer (e.g. KDE 3.5.x, Kolab e35), users could see the complete free/busy schedule for each attendee they add to an event.

In the new KOrganizer (KDE 4.8.0 in any case), this is no longer the case. There is only a button "Reschedule" which is greyed out unless a conflict is detected with the Free/Busy schedule of any participating attendee. For many of our users, this is insufficient. This is due to the following workflow:
When scheduling a meeting, many of our users will first consult the Free/Busy schedule of all participants to avoid "back-to-back" meetings. For example, if Free/Busy shows that one of the attendees already has a meeting from 10:00-11:00, the organiser will schedule the new meeting at 11:30, not at 11:00. With the new KOrganizer, this is no longer possible, as the Free/Busy schedule is only visible in case of conflict - and there is no conflict shown in case of "back-to-back" meetings, hence, it is not possible to see the Free/Busy schedule.

Hence, the wish is to make the Free/Busy schedule available at all times, not only if there is a conflict. Ideally, that would mean bringing back the old interface, where the schedule is shown immediately for all participants. Alternatively, if that is too much work, not greying out the "Reschedule" button would probably suffice - as long as the schedule is always available in some form, the workflow above can be satisfied.

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:
The Free/Busy schedule for all attendees of an event is available at all times, not only in case of conflict.

Just tried again with 4.8.4 - this problem is still present, it is not possible to get the Free/Busy schedule if there is no conflict.
