Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.8.0) OS: Linux when saving as.. and wanting to save a png to a jpg (for example, for uploading snapshots to this bugzilla) i found that the sugestion of save as.. is far from optimal after i select jpg as the filetype. The name might become blank (have to type the whole name again), a filename from another unrelated previous file (bad, might lead to data loss). Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: open a pic (f1.png) save as.. and select jpg open a pic (f2.png) save as.. and the sugested name will probably either blank or f5.png (very bad) Actual Results: non-intuitive name sugestion when using save as.. and selecting a different picture format (jpg in this case). Expected Results: for f1.png i expect f1.jpg as a default suggestion Gwenview says is versión 2.7.4 kdebase-workspace.x86_64 4.7.4-9.fc16 @updates kdebase-workspace-libs.x86_64 4.7.4-9.fc16 @updates libkworkspace.x86_64 4.7.4-9.fc16 @updates
currently, on F16 if i open a file1.png and choose save as.. and change type to other (for example, tiff) the proposed name changes from file1.png to lalalala.tif (and lalalala file exists but i don't know why it chooses this name). Gwenview, Versión 2.8.4, KDE 4.8.4 (4.8.4) FEDORA 16
Kubuntu 14.04 KDE 4.13.0 I can reproduce this behavior with Kubuntu in Libreoffice (Writer, Impress). Create files a.odt, b.odt and c.odt in the same folder. Open c.odt -> Save As -> select diferent format -> The sugested name file changes from c.odt to b.doc In other computer with the same configuration some times the suggested name just disapear. In Ubuntu or Xubuntu ther is no problem, so I assume is the KDE dialog.
F16 is old and EOL. Also i tried with Gwenview version 16.04.3 and when one tries to save "file1.png" to a JPG file, the new name sugestion is now "file1.jpg". So, in recent versions this is FIXED. Thanks. Please close.
