Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.8.0) OS: Linux Whenever I remove the second monitor from my computer. KDE releases that the second monitor is removed but did not automatically resize the desktop but instead keeps it extended. Thus always a log out and log in is necessary to resize the desktop. I have experienced the same situation in different linux distributions and in different computers. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: - Plug a second display - extend the desktop to the second display - remove the display by unplugging the cable - The desktop stays extended Expected Results: - Shrink the size of the desktop
I have seen this too, but if I recall correctly, only after checking 'Unify outputs' and then unplugging the second monitor. the laptop display (native 1920x1080) was set to 1920x1200 (prob as a result to unify outputs with the second monitor being 1920x1200), with the lower 120 pixels invisible but reachable by mouse. Fiddling with xrandr didn't persuade the desktop to go back to 1920x1080.
Everytime I remove the second monitor, I call "xrandr -s" in console to make the desktop in correct size. I believe this is a very small bug, it can be even corrected with a single line. But there is no answer from KDE team yet :(
This still happens with KDE 4.9 Beta.
