crashreport of ksecretserviced

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.8.0)
OS: Linux

Every time I try to log off my running KDE-session, ksecret crashes and prevents the system to log off, or to shut down, or to reboot.

A crash screen comes up with some information like this:
Application: KDE DaemonSecret Service (ksecretsserviced), signal: Segmentation fault

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Log off, shut down or reboot from my KDE Desktop.

Actual Results:
Not fully sure if this exist only since I've running once from x-terminal as user this command to migrate from kwallet to KsecretService:
$ kwl2kss

Expected Results:
No crashes when log off, reboot or shut down the system.

Less information found regarding this new service. I don't need and configured it by now via GUI of Systemsettings, to sync Passwords of two different PCs.

I thought it was a replacement for kwallet, but it seems to me both were needed furthermore - right?

Thanks for the report. This won't reproduce on my system, though. I'm using KDE compiled from sources with kdesrcbuild.

As a workaround, you may want to deactivate ksecretsserviced by adding this line to ~/.kde/share/config/kwalletrc file:
UseKSecretsService=false

Can you please give more info about your KDE setup?

Todays crashreport of ksecretserviced
Comment 3 Randy Andy 2012-02-21 17:46:27 UTC
Thanks for your reply, Valentin.

I added "UseKSecretsService=false" to my kwalletrc.
After relog into KDE the first time, a message came up regarding the expiring of kwallet soon, but only once.

I logge out and in sometimes and also rebooted, but ksecretserviced crashes every time looging out from kde furthermore. Attached my latest crashreport under this conditions.

After that i went back to my old kwalletrc settings.
Any further things i could try out?

You asked for more information regarding my KDE setup. Not sure what kind of information you mean.
I have this trouble only on my Desktop with ~x86_64 Bit arch, not on my ~x86_32Bit Netbook with also the latest version out of the portage tree (the Gentoo standard repository, for the case you never heard).
So it's compiled from source, of course although i don't know kdesrcbuild.

Dolphin's /Help/about told: KDE 4.8.00
What more you need to know?

Best regards and thanks for your engagement.

Changing status to UNCOFIRMED while continuing investigations.
Comment 6 Randy Andy 2012-03-18 18:27:58 UTC
Today I fixed the problem in deleting the one an only file into this directory :
~/.kde4/share/apps/ksecretservice/xyzxxxxx.ksecret
and this file too, but deleting this allone doesn't fix the case for me.
~/.kde4/share/config/ksecretsyncrc

Now I can log off, shutdown or reboot without any crashes , so the case is solved for me.

Regards, Andy.
