Description Ingomar Wesp 2012-02-18 11:53:50 UTC
Version: 4.8 (using KDE 4.8.0)
OS: Linux

I just changed the path in the Akonadi "Local Notes" resource to one that points to the same directory (removed an unecessary slash in the path). After that, all book names were mangled as shown in the attached screenshot (I pixelized the page names; they were still intact).

Unfortunately, I tried it again, but couldn't reproduce the issue :(

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to System Settings -> Personal Information -> Akonadi Resource Configuration
2. Modify the "Local Notes" resource by changing the path (should still ultimately point to the same maildir, though).

Actual Results:
Book names in KJots were mangled.

Expected Results:
Nothing should have happened.

KJots has been retired for almost a year, all bugs for it are being closed.

Quoting the public announcement
https://kontact.kde.org/blog/2024/2024-07-01-kde-pim-may-june-2024/#retiring-kjots-and-knotes

We have decided to retire the KJots and KNotes applications. These applications have not seen any support or development in many years and are not in a state that we feel comfortable shipping to our users. With the introduction of Marknote, KDE can now offer a modern, well-maintained note-taking application that we can recommend users to migrate to. The latest release of Marknote has gained support for importing notes from KJots and KNotes, so no notes will be lost.
