Description aRTee 2012-02-14 15:14:04 UTC

Marble can show satellites in space view: "100 (or so) brightest" from http://celestrak.com/NORAD/elements/ when online.

Feature request: whether online or offline, it would be cool if marble (touch) could show the GPS sats that the system has ephemeris data for (as soon as it has data, even before a fix)?
(If satellites are drawn as soon as the ephemeris data is there, that will also help the (knowledgeable) user to know if a-gps is functional or not.)

That would be much much cooler than the regular spiderweb view, especially if some kind of colour change would indicate the sat reception strength and whether it's momentarily in use for GPS positioning...!

For example, a normally drawn satellite would be one that the trajectory is know of (ephemeris), a red one one that is in view (gps stream reception), a green one one that is in use, and perhaps a coloured circle around the satellite that indicates the signal strength (red very low, <10dB, orange low, <20dB, yellow ok, <30dB and green good, >40dBm).
dBm scale estimated off the top of my head, it should make sense to have levels where they make sense... green/good should occur regularly with clear view of the sky.

This could be an alternate option alongside the existing show satellites: show gps satellites, or it could be included in the show satellites option.
One or the other will have repercussions on how the gps related satellites should be coloured/marked to make them stand out.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Expected Results:
Desired results: show gps sats on space view with info on signal strength etc.
