Looks like a theme bug? At least, the backtrace does not contain any Kate code.

The backtrace reveals a memory corruption, which could also be caused by kdevelop. If this is reproducible, we need a valgrind log to isolate the problem. Thanks for the update. Looks like "ConfigView::updateCurrentTargetDescription" is the culprit, which is from gdbplugin.

I tried with kate form master, but I could not reproduce the crash...

The line number is probably one line off, at least compared to master.

I have to check it out.

This was fixed before 4.8, but unfortunately it was not backported to 4.7 :(
