Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.4) OS: Linux Akonadi returns utter nonsensical hyperbole about the dangers of running as root and refuses to run. I have been using KDE since at least RH 9. If I want to run as root that is my responsibility - not KDE's. It should not be KDE's position to make me run MY computer the way that some developer thinks that I should run MY computer. Wanna warn me? Fine. Require? I'll switch back to Gnome. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: Not applicable Actual Results: not applicable Expected Results: Should be able to run as root
It's a limitation of MySQL, which Akonadi uses internally.
