Description Matthias Kretz 2012-01-31 08:07:13 UTC
Version:           4.8 (using KDE 4.8.0)
OS:                Linux

I just created a new Book and write a few items on a page. About a minute later (I already was working on something different) I got a popup "<name of IMAP account>: Unknown error. (Cannot select this collection)". I then looked at kjots and my book was gone.

Note that I renamed the IMAP Folder containing the Book shortly before (i.e. right click on the folder which contained the book -> Rename).

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
* IMAP Account on a dovecot IMAP server
* create folder in KMail and mark to contain Notes
* it shows up as Kolab (<name of IMAP account>) it kjots
* add book and write some stuff
* rename folder
* wait for Akonadi sync

Actual Results:
The book is gone.

Expected Results:
The book is saved to the IMAP folder.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 3.0.0-15-generic
Compiler: gcc

Here's one step I forgot (might be important): I also renamed the book and page. IIRC I did this before renaming the outer notes folder.

KJots has been retired for almost a year, all bugs for it are being closed.

Quoting the public announcement
https://kontact.kde.org/blog/2024/2024-07-01-kde-pim-may-june-2024/#retiring-kjots-and-knotes

We have decided to retire the KJots and KNotes applications. These applications have not seen any support or development in many years and are not in a state that we feel comfortable shipping to our users. With the introduction of Marknote, KDE can now offer a modern, well-maintained note-taking application that we can recommend users to migrate to. The latest release of Marknote has gained support for importing notes from KJots and KNotes, so no notes will be lost.
