You do have poppler installed, otherwise Okular won't render pdf files.

Can you please install poppler-dbg It will give more information the next time it crashes? Also how often can you make it crash? If it is easy for you could you also install valgrind and run valgrind okular your_file.pdf and attach here the output of it?

There's nothing really useful in that valgrind trace :-/ Please when it crashes again, once you have poppler-dbg installed attach here the new backtrace reported by the crash handler

No It did not crash again.
I'll set as "works for me" since 7 months like a lot of time and problably it was fixed silently in one of the in between releases
