Description Michał Walenciak 2012-01-27 20:43:55 UTC

I've some ideas about how to make Kdevelop's interface, more convenient ;).
Last days I was working a lot with QtCreator. It seems less powerful than kdevelop, but has more user friendly UI (maybe some ideas should be copied from it? ;) ).

1. Switching "code" and "debug" tabs is very slow. The more files is open the slower it is. I think, Interface is changing too much between them, it confuses me when I cannot do something in "debug" tab and I must switch to "code" one. So actually I make both of them to look almost the same (by adding proper "tools/views").

2. very often I switch between cpp/hpp/ui files with the same name. In Kdevelop those files are in different groups (in "documents" tab) which makes them harder to find. I also very often switch between tabs "projects" and "documents". I couldn't make them both visible on (ie) left side of kdevelop's window. It would made my life easier :)

3.tabs with files on top of editor. On non-wide screens (like mine - 1280px) only a few of them are visible. With big projects (many opened files) they are actually useless. I think that maybe some smart sorting (most often used at beginning) or something would be nice.

That's all ;) feel free to make any suggestions /comments.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Expected Results:
Let It be more convenient :)

Hi!
I really appreciate your ideas but it's hard to work on htem if they're all in 1 wish, can you break it up in different entries so that we can discuss every idea separately?, if you still want them, that is :).
