Version: 4.8.x (using KDE 4.8.0) OS: Linux Sending an email to participant of an meeting failed due to invalid address. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: Steps to reproduce: 1.) Create an invitation with at least one participant with email-address forename.lastname@company.de. Response yes if system asks to send email to the participant of the meeting. 2.) The generated email cannot be sent due to the following error Fehler beim Übertragen der Nachricht. Mailversand fehlgeschlagen, da die folgende Empfängeradresse vom Server abgelehnt wurde: <forname.lastname@company.de> (Meldung des Servers: Address syntax error: <<forname.lastname@company.de>>). This error message says sending of the email failed due to an invalid email-address. The server responded with: "Invalid address <<forname.lastname@company.de>>. 3. If I open the email in the outbox and re-send it without changing anything the email can be sent. The receiver email is displayed correctly without the <<>>. Add. Info: 1) The addresses stored in an akonnadi-gcal resource. 2) The behavior is always reproducable for all invitations. 3) The behavior came with Kmail2. Expected Results: The email is sent without an error message.
I think montel fixed this, right ?
yes fixed
I also read this has been fixed in 4.7.x but I'm using Kontact 4.8 (opensuse 12.1) and it doesn't work. The behavior is as described. Both the contact and the calendar resource are akonadi-google-resources. Perhaps this is important. If any additional info. is needed please let me know.
Try with 4.8.1 I fixed a lot of bug about it. And it's fixed now.
I'll give it a try as soon as RPMs are available. Thank you for you effort.
