Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.4) OS: Linux On fresh Fedora 16 KDE spin installations, the change desktop object is not present in main KDE panel. If you try to add it, you will get only a very little space at the right of the clock. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Enter into panel editing mode by pressing the proper button. Add objects Look for change desktop and double click to add it to the panel. Actual Results: You will only get a tiny trasparent space at the right of the clock Expected Results: I expected to have the object that allows to change desktops
Do you mean the Pager applet?
yes it should be the Pager applet
I am not sure I understand correctly what you mean. First it's Fedora choice not to have a pager in their default panel, KDE has one. Second, please attach a screenshot to this bug report, thanks in advance.
I have done a video http://youtu.be/p2ryoyVoAAU
Your video is private, I can't view it
I am sorry, try again now
Created attachment 68200 [details] Pager on the right of the panel, I dragged it
Does it work with default KDE Desktop Theme? (Air)
No, it does not. http://youtu.be/pqut5RfdiTA
1) You already have a pager though: where is it? 2) Can you add other applets or is it only Pager that can't be added? 3) What about a new empty panel, can you add it there?
1) Fedora does not have a pager on the panel, you have to add it 2) Other applet can be added without problems 3) In a new empty panel you will have the same problem as the default panel
In your video, the pager Applet is checked. This is because you have only 1 desktop and in that case, the Pager does not show (the logic being that you don't have to change desktops, having only 1). In System Settings, increase your number of virtual desktops to 2 and your applet will show. KDE 4.8 shows the applet even if there is only 1 desktop. Thanks to R Dieter for his help on IRC!
