Version: 2.5.0 (using KDE 4.7.4) OS: Linux I tried the new facial recognition feature. I scanned my entire collection of 30K images. I found quite a lot of faces with a reasonable amount of false positives. After, I went into the "People->Unknown" tag and used the interface to create new tags for about 20 different faces. I then tagged a decent sample of each person. When I click on "Scan collection for faces" then select the "Recognize option" and click on "Scan", the scan completes within less than 5 seconds, but nothing is changed; faces in the "People->Unknown" are not being tagged. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Scan collection for faces. 2. Eliminate images which do not show faces. 3. Create tags for different people. 4. Move the tags under "People". 5. Identify a sample of faces (at lest 10 per person) and assign the newly created tags. 6. Click on "Scan collection for faces" then select the "Recognize option" and click on "Scan". Actual Results: Nothing Expected Results: Faces would get assigned the correct tag corresponding to the person shown in the image. OS: Linux (x86_64) release 3.2.1-1-ARCH Compiler: gcc

7.0.0-beta1 is out with new Face Recognition algorithm based on Deep Learning/Neural Network API from OpenCV https://download.kde.org/unstable/digikam/ Please test and give us a feedback Thanks in advance Gilles Caulier
See the Neural Network example from digiKam 7.0.0-beta1 performing faces recognition with 2 items face-tagged in first. https://i.imgur.com/HHF4T9X.png 1 new item is recognized, name-tagged, highlighted with green frame, and linked in "unconfirmed" virtual tag for confirmation. Recognition work well using Deep Learning. I close this file now. Merry Christmas and Happy new year. Gilles Caulier
