This has happened several times when I hit the send button of a composed email in Thunderbird, and also when opening a new tab in Chrome, plus when doing other operations with other programs too. This happens a lot - it is making my system very unstable and is a very high priority bug.  Happens on two different laptops from different vendors which both have Kubuntu 11.10 installed.

The crash can be reproduced some of the time.
