Description Kubuntiac 2012-01-09 04:38:30 UTC
Version: svn (using KDE 4.7.4)
OS: Linux

When selecting a section of text and trying to use the style manager to apply styles (from any of the tabs) nothing actually happens when clicking "Apply". Styles update instantly when choosing a style from the "Paragraph" docker.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a section of text.
2. Menu item: Format > Style Manager
3. Select a different style (or change any setting in any tab of the style manager).
4. Click apply

Actual Results:
Nothing happens

Expected Results:
The selected style changes are instantly applied to the selected text

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 3.1-CHAKRA
Compiler: gcc

QT 4.8, Calligra revision v2.3.85-474-g2215d10, compiled with the build script here (just with creative_only flag changed to off):

usabiity disaster actually - as apply means apply your changes to the styles but keep the style manager open.

I doesn't mean to apply the style to your paragraph.

Hmm, how to make this more obvious

Changing this to wish item. The code is behaving, we need to find another caption to the button, perhaps "Save changes" or "Save style", maybe "Save" would be enough?

"Use changes" maybe
Comment 4 Pierre Stirnweiss 2013-01-06 19:00:36 UTC
For me, "use" would also imply that the style gets used (ie. applied on the paragraph)

maybe just not have an apply button at all ?
