I had just written 1-2 pages of text and had been trying to select a sentence and drag it somewhere else. It didn't seem to be registering dragging, just starting a new selection each time. Just after I had given up and single clicked just below the selection (presumably deselecting it), words crashed.

KDE 4.7.4, Chakra Packages, QT 4.8, Words revision v2.3.85-474-g2215d10

The crash can be reproduced some of the time.
