Version: 1.99 (using Devel) OS: Linux This bug does have two aspects, the less critical is that it's very difficult to do a drag and drop in dolphin from ark. You have to find (more or less) the pixel which allowed you to do it. The second part is when you find the pixel the extraction is not done. The file extract doesn't appear anywhere. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: open an archive, select a file, drag and drop to dolphin Actual Results: nothing Expected Results: extract the file
Thanks for the report, but I cannot reproduce the issue. For me the report is slightly unclear: When you say "drag and drop in dolphin from ark" do you mean the ark-application or just a compressed file in Dolphin that gets opened as a directory? If you mean "ark the application" then there is nothing that Dolphin can do regarding pixel to start dragging. What I did: - Enabled in Dolphin the setting "[x] Open archives as folder" - Clicked on a .tar.gz file that contains a directory with 10 images -> directory with 10 images gets shown - Dragged 2 images into a second Dolphin window Result: The images have been extracted and copied.
The problem appeared when ark is open in a new window not "as open archive as a folder". In my computer rar archive are open in a ark window not as a folder (perhaps it's another problem but doesn't matter) and I can not extract a file from the ark window open. It was working with dolphin 1
Ok, thanks for the update. I'm not sure whether the issue is related to Ark and how it initializes the drag or whether a new issue in Dolphin had been introduced...
Perhaps this bug is related to this one? https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=289945 and so a duplicate.
Oh dear, this sounds not good if this is an issue in Qt. I just updated to Qt 4.8 yesterday - I'm currently in the office and cannot check the sidebar-issue in Dolphin mentioned in bug 289945 but hopefully can verify this quite soon (I still have a punch of other issues that should be fixed before the 4.8 release of KDE apps, so I cannot promise anything ;-))
It's probably not Qt but kdelibs-related. What is your kdelibs version?
My kdelibs version is 4.4.7 and Qt 4.7.4 It seems that the problem can be kwin related https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=289945#c13
I tried Aaron workaround ( https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=289945#c22 ) and the bug is not there anymore so I do think I can close it as duplicate. Thanks to have look at it. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 289945 ***
