Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.4) OS: Linux When I have several wide columns in System Activity sometimes walking with keyboard over the entries changes current column: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUHNd-DyBz4 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Resize columns which have to be wide enough that all the columns would no fit in the view. Press Ctrl+Esc Click with mouse on a cell in the first column. Press Right arrow several times to get to the last column. Now the view is moved to the right for you to be able to see the current column. Press Down or Up arrow to select another row. Actual Results: Looks like first column is automatically selected and the view is moved to first column. Expected Results: The same column should stay active, and view should move only vertically (if needed)
Confirmed with KSysGuard 4.10.5 in KDE 4.10.5 Changing rows causes the visible area in the window to shift to make the selected column visible. 1. Select the left hand column 2. Reduce window width so that horizontal scrollbar appears 3. Use scroll bar so that right hand column is visible 4. change row using up or down cursor Result is that scrollbar will jump to the left so that the left hand column becomes visible This can also be seen by: 1. Select the right hand column 2. Reduce window width so that horizontal scrollbar appears 3. Use scroll bar so that left hand column is visible 4. change row using up or down cursor This time the scrollbar will jump to the right so that the selected column is visible I'm not sure if this is the intended behaviour but because the selected column isn't highlighted in any way makes it seem a little odd.
Also the bug description is a little inaccurate. The active column doesn't actually change, the window adjusts so that the active column is visible.
