Description Christoph Bartoschek 2012-01-01 11:29:56 UTC
Version: 4.8 (using Devel)
OS: Linux

I connect to an IMAP-Server with thousands of messages. As soon as the server appears in the folder list I select one folder with about 100 subfolders and in sum 15000 mails. I then select archiving this folder. The operation quickly finishes and results in an empty archive. The folder strucuture is in the archive. But there are no mails.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
See above.

Actual Results:
See above.

Expected Results:
A correct archive of the folder.

It is obvious that some mails can be missing in an archive that arrived after archive creation has been triggered. But mails that are already on the server have to be archived correctly.

The serverity of this bug is Major because if the user does not check he will use his mails.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
