Description Guido Schmidt 2011-12-28 19:06:19 UTC
Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.3)
OS: Linux

KDE-Version is 4.7.4 (the drop-down-list did not offer this version).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Have a folder open with duplicate mails in it. Select "Remove Duplicate Mails" from the Folder-menu.

Actual Results:
Kmail2 deletes not only the duplicate but also the original mail. Undo does not work here. The deletion is final, nothing to be rescued from trash.

Expected Results:
Should delete only the duplicates, undo should be available too.

I suspect the duplicates are one of those self-generated ones mentioned in various other reports because I didn't have any of them befove I switched from kmail1.

Today I had another duplicate. This time the function worked as expected. So it should say now:

Reproducible: Sometimes
Comment 2 Guido Schmidt 2012-03-10 19:07:49 UTC
It gets worse: Today it deleted a new message that did not even have a duplicate.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Comment 4 Denis Kurz 2017-01-07 21:37:14 UTC
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
