Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: Linux [Using KDE 4.7.95] In KDE 4.8 RC1 the Add Widgets strip and the Activity Manager (meta+Q) no longer slide into the screen but appear like a normal window. The panel controller slides into view fine (also when triggering Add Widgets from a panel) but when it disappears there are some artefacts and its opacity decreases while it is sliding out Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Press Meta Q or use Add Widgets from the Desktop (not from panel controller) Actual Results: The Plasma strips appear like a normal window Expected Results: They slide in like a plasma pop up like before Related to the recent changes in said effect?
Plasma's fault: probably the hint is missing
With the new QML-based dialogs, it looks even weirder now.

Still an issue in 4.9.90. Should be definitely be fixed, preferably before the 4.10 release.
It works for me, Arch Linux, Git master packages. Can someone confirm it?
Not working in 4.11.1.
Hello! This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
