Description franzmach 2011-12-25 14:48:56 UTC
Version:           4.7 (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS:                Linux

I am accesing NFS shares on a NAS server trough NFS version 2 using UDP (this is what the server offers, I can't change it)

This works without any problems using mount and umount commands (using udp option in fstab), however the KDE4 desktop entry
[Desktop Entry]
Dev=192.168.0.77:/opt/netdisc/photos
Icon=folder-remote
MountPoint=/opt/netdisc/photos
ReadOnly=false
Type=FSDevice
X-SuSE-translate=true
is not able to handle it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Make an entry like this one in /etc/fstab to access a NFS network share as specifieid in Details^
192.168.0.8:/opt/netdisc/music  /opt/netdisc/musik      nfs     rw,noauto,users,noexec,udp 0 0

mounting as user with
mount opt/netdisc/musik
works without any problems

However creating the KDE desktop entry (selectng the NFS share in the fstab imported list) causes problems.

Actual Results:
Actually the NFS share is mounted when click on the icon, but then a warning about UDP protocol may cause data loss appears and the folder is not being displayed. (Opening the folder manually with dolphine works).
The other and more important issue is that the desktop entry is not recognizing the share as mounted and therefore not offering the context menu entry for unmount.

Expected Results:
The mounted NFS share should open in the filebrowser after succesful mount and the desktop entry should notice the mounted state and offer unmount option in context menu as well as opening the mountpoint in filebrowser when clicking on the icon in mounted state.
