Description m.wege 2011-12-24 10:37:09 UTC
Version: 1.99.0 (using Devel)
OS: Linux

I do not know why (actually network is on), but there seemed to be a problem with the connection to IMAP. So an error message poped up in notifications "NAMEOFSERVER. There is no connection to the IMAP server" (message was in German, so may be different in original language). This message did not only appear onces, but I guess at least a hundert times (with notification sound). I would be good if the amount of notifications could be limited even though a conditions appears more then once..

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Actual Results:

Expected Results:
see above

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 3.2.0-5-generic
Compiler: gcc

I experience the same on kubuntu 11.10 . I had it before but it disappeared after I installed several kde bugfixes. Now, in kde 4.7.4 the problem appears again. I am also using german languge settings. Shortly before the notifications pop up kde seems to hang for some seconds.

Happens in the English version as well.
Distribution: Kubuntu 11.10
KDE: 4.7.4

I MAY have been fixed in KDE SC 4.8. My mail provider semi-often cuts the IMAP connection, but I don't think I've seen the sudden flood of notifications for a while.

I agree. I only have seen the similar problem when disc space on my root-partition (which contains /tmp) is full. Then there is also the on-going flood of notifications. Not sure, if I should file a new bug report or extend this.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Comment 6 Denis Kurz 2017-01-07 22:35:58 UTC
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
