Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: Linux As soon as I enable the "different widgets for each desktop" option, all of my widgets from all desktops/activities are deleted. Further, if I try to re-add a widget, such as folder view, the "add widgets" dialog will show a check box next to it, as if it's on my desktop, but it isn't, since it was deleted. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: On a fresh configuration (or any configuration where this option has never been used): 1.) Open System Settings 2.) Open "Workspace Behavior" 3.) Click on "Virtual Desktops" 4.) Enable "Different Widgets for each desktop" 5.) All your plasmoids are now deleted from all workspaces/activities 6.) Go to add a plasmoid, and notice the ones that were cleared still have a checkmark as if they are still there Actual Results: Plasmoids are deleted Expected Results: Plasmoids remain intact, or you are at least warned. Also, the blue check marks should not be on plasmoids that are not present. I have a video of this issue, but it's 2MB, so I'm not sure what the preferred way is to get it to you guys.
I uploaded my video to Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZlOPyMXOnE&feature=youtu.be In the video you'll see that I start with two folder view plasmoids, and then enabling the option to have different widgets for each virtual desktop will kill ALL my Plasmoids. You'll also see that if I open the add plasmoids dialog, it still shows that Folder View is active (there is a blue check box on it) even though it's not there. Ignore what happens after, it's just me trying to figure out how to stop the recording.
It happens to me too ( I'm with KDE 7.4.7 ). bug 289741 is a partial duplicate of this one
4.7.4* typo (In reply to comment #2) > It happens to me too ( I'm with KDE 7.4.7 ). bug 289741 is a partial duplicate > of this one
The applets are not deleted, they are hidden: when you disable "Different Widgets for each desktop" they all are shown again. Merging with 289741 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 289741 ***
Is it possible to make this more obvious? Like maybe an informative popup or something?
