Description Terence Haddock 2011-12-23 13:58:05 UTC
Version: 2.1.1 (using KDE 4.7.3)
OS: Linux

When importing large image collections, instead of a modal dialog that blocks activity, it would be better to process the collection in the background. Albums are added under "My Albums" as they are scanned, and already scanned images can be worked with right away.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Start with an empty database and add a large collection, and wait...

Actual Results:
No work can be done while scanning.

Expected Results:
It should be possible to work with images as they are scanned.

Already implemented by Marcel into 2.4 release.

I didnt try but I cared only for the startup period, not for the case that a new collection is added from the setup, so I'm not sure it's actually fixed. Terence, did you try with 2.4?
