It would be nice to have a quick reply, forward form at the bottom of the message a la gmail.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
read a message

Actual Results:  
hit reply button and a new window spawns to reply

Expected Results:  
a blank at the bottom of the email allows one to enter a quick reply or forward with message

I'm not so sure about this. Certainly this would be a very dynamic, on-the-fly, Gmail-style UI design. But it would mean moving away from the classic UI philosophy. Therefore I would only go this way as part of a complete UI redesign, in other words a Kmail3, which probably isn't on the roadmap for the next years to come.

Technically, this would require integrating composer functionality into the viewer, which is doable but quite some work which is more needed improving stability and basic functionality.
