Description Wyatt Epp 2011-12-17 08:29:56 UTC
Version: 2.0-git (using KDE 4.7.3)
OS: Linux

Entering any text that contains doubled square braces (many Bash snippets, for example) will appear to work fine, but as soon as you leave typing mode, the square braces disappear.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter "if [[ -d ~/.bashrc ]]; then" in a note.
2. Leave text-entry mode
3. Watch as the square braces disappear, leaving you with "if -d ~/.bashrc ; then"

Expected Results:
Text entered by the user should never disappear, especially after you leave editing mode and no longer have the ability to undo. I think this comes back to another bug I'm about to file where basket really just needs to stop trying to format text if it hasn't been told to.

basket-1.81 installed from portage

Can somewhat confirm in the latest gitlab version.

double brackets will be used to format text in notes.

However, the original brackets are still present in the "source".
Entering the edit mode will show the original string.
