Version: 2.6 (using KDE 4.6.5) OS: Linux After renaming a file, it "moves" to its new location in the file list according to its name, which is expected, but this also rearrange the viewing order relatively to the new position. for example, let's say I have a bunch of picture with numbers as file names, from 1000.jpg to 2500.jpg, that I want to turn into something more meaningful. Using gwenview's view mode I start renaming file from the beginning. After renaming 1000.jpg to angry_penguin.jpg I find the file has silently jumped at the end of the list and pressing space to go to next file does nothing as I am at the end of the file list now. I have to go back to browse mode, pick the first of the list again,go back to view mode and start again. Really sub optimal. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Open gwenview in view mode showing the first image of directory with several images named 100.jpg 101.jpg ... 110.jpg. Rename it to 105.jpg. Press space to display next image. Actual Results: Displays the next image relative to the new image position in the file list i.e. 106.jpg Expected Results: Displays the next relatively to the position of the image in the list prior renaming i.e. 102.jpg Renders gwenview totally useless as a tool to rename images and severly hinderits usefulness an image manager. Look at how acdsee v2.41 deals with image renaming.
