Description Colin J Thomson 2011-12-11 23:06:28 UTC
Version: 1.99 (using Devel)
OS: Linux

Try and drag a file or folder from the main window to the side panel and it fails to copy/move. No context menu is shown offering copy or move.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Try and drag and drop a file from the main window to the side panel

Actual Results:
No context menu shown for Copy/Move, the file or folder is not copied/moved

Expected Results:
The context menu should be shown and then the file can be copied/moved

Drag and drop between folders within the main window works fine.
This was working fine in 4.7.4, but not in 4.7.90

Thanks for the report, this has just been recently fixed.
Comment 2 Colin J Thomson 2011-12-29 23:25:41 UTC
Confirmed fixed in 4.7.95, thanks!

I do think that this bug is not completely fixed. I still have the problem but only with the trash icon.
Comment 4 Peter Penz 2012-01-05 14:48:05 UTC
@humufr: That is a slightly different bug and has been there since Dolphin 1.0. As you say it is only related to the trash which requires some special handling - it would be great if you could open a separate bug-report for this. Thanks :-)

Ok I will do it. The strange things that it was working with kde 4.7
Comment 6 Peter Penz 2012-01-06 13:20:52 UTC
@humufr: Thanks for reporting it in bug 290272. I was wrong in comment 4 that the issue is there since 1.0: As you say copying works in KDE 4.7 (what I meant is that if something fails when dragging it into the information panel in general, then no error message is shown).
