powermanagement settings

In 4.7.80 and 4.7.90 (from Archlinux kde-unstable repo), closing the lid or pressing the power button does not suspend the laptop. I attached my configuration file if you need it.

However, clicking on "suspend" in the powermanagement plasmoid works perfectly.

I'm not sure if there are logs somewhere that could help, but if you need anything more, please ask :)

It also happens at my laptop.
Comment 2 Guillaume DE BURE 2011-12-25 11:10:00 UTC
Still there on 4.7.95... If the bug is indeed in the KDE SC stack, I would call it a showstopper for the 4.8 release, as it also prevents the laptop from suspending after some idle time.

If there is anything I can do to help identifying the problem, please tell me :)

Same here (Arch and kde-unstable).
Lenovo Thinkpad T410s.

I could not reproduce this issue after a reboot.
The system has not changed in any way between the sessions. Strange...

This is nothing new to me. I never had it working with even with previous KDE releases. However, as the OP says, clicking "Sleep" in PM plasmoid always works.
Comment 6 Andrea Scarpino 2012-01-05 08:21:01 UTC
I cannot reproduce with 4.7.97, unfortunately I didn't test this in 4.7.95.
RC2 should be released today; we've to wait that.
Comment 7 Dimitris Damigos 2012-01-05 16:12:06 UTC
I have just installed 4.7.97 and the issue remains (Sony VAIO VPCCW1S1E)
Comment 8 Dario Freddi 2012-01-05 16:30:58 UTC
Can you please check if this is a duplicate of 289760?
Comment 9 Dimitris Damigos 2012-01-05 16:37:11 UTC
Yes, it's the same bug. I get the same error in .xsession-errors. It doesn't trigger any action that is configured on "lid close" or on "power button pressed".

Thanks a lot Dimitris. Please follow my advice on the other bug to help me track the issue
