usability.

if I check "Show layout indicator" it should only show into system tray area, with its coherent style. now the indicator is roughly duplicated.

in kcm, "Configure layouts" field should be always activated, thus the redundant checkbox removed.

Could you please attach screenshot for the first issue?

For the second one, some people don't want to configure layouts but use system configuration but still be able to have indicator
