Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS: Linux

Having updated from OpenSUSE 11.4 to OpenSUSE 12.1 inccluding KDE from4.6 to

Severe Failure, kmail needs to be closed.Kmail has problems to find ressources.
Kmail can be operated to a certain limit (f.e. sending emails) The inboxes work and the emails can be read.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Close and restart

Actual Results:
same as above

Expected Results:
normal start via kontact

Tried to repair the OS without any result

Could you give more information. C++ Traceback for example will be very helpful.
Comment 2 Myriam Schweingruber 2011-12-05 16:05:15 UTC
What is the exact message you get?
Comment 3 Hubert Mueller 2011-12-13 13:26:39 UTC
Hello
Some additions to the previous report:
The message sent at startup: There is a failure during collecting of the resource collection (translated from German)
What works: after neglecting this message I can read the emails
What doesn't work : sending or answering mails

An additional remark: The files list(bar) at the left side is shown in English, while the complete other interface is displayed in German

Thank you for the feedback.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Comment 6 Denis Kurz 2017-01-07 21:52:14 UTC
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
